Broadband Associates was founded specifically to assist clients in creating "smart communities." "Smart communities" are those that have elevated their ability to grow creatively, socially, and economically, through the effective deployment and development of networks; social networks, transportation networks, communication networks.

At Broadband Associates, we are communications network experts.

We supply and manage secure, reliable, and future-proof fiber-optic communications solutions for select government entities and educational institutions. We were founded by a team of highly experienced education professionals and telecom experts from AT&T Broadband. Our mission is to be the provider of choice, for a full range of custom tailored, private fiber-optic network services to government and education. Our goal is to help our clients focus on running their organization, instead of on running their network.

Unlike large common carriers, we're focused totally on our clients. We are organized to deliver maximum efficiency and value, and we continuously negotiate to bring additional partners and resources into the network. We also have a Service Provider ID Number (SPIN), so our solutions can be eligible for E-Rate support funding from the federal government.

For federally subsidized Broadband Associates network infrastructure, Broadband Associates complies with all Non-Discrimination and Interconnection Obligations. All Broadband Associates federally subsidized broadband infrastructure is and will be committed to complete open access. Any and all last mile providers as well as backbone providers shall have access to the federally subsidized installed middle mile infrastructure, ensuring end users the ability to have the benefit of competition between all providers choosing to access the infrastructure.

Per the FCC's Internet Policy Statement, FCC 05-151, all consumers will be entitled to a) access the lawful Internet content of their choice, b) run applications and use services of their choice, subject to the needs of law enforcement, c) connect their choice of legal devices that do not harm the network, and d) competition among network providers, application and service providers and content providers.

Any and all lawful Internet applications and content shall have equal and fair access to the federally subsidized middle mile infrastructure and technology and ultimately to the major backbone providers. All network management policies are displayed on the Broadband Associates website at www.broadbandassoc.com. All customers shall receive notice of change of such policies. The project consists of an open access network and shall offer interconnection as technically feasible and where capacity allows at fair and competitive rates.
